The surface of the bike is prone to damage on exposure to the sun and various chemicals therefore it is better to apply a wax coat over the painted surface. This will also give the bike a glossy look preventing the yellowing of the bike with age.

Polishing the bike with wax requires a lot of consideration. The wax polish needs to be resistant to high temperature because the machine working expels heat. Care has to be taken to choose chrome resistant polish on chrome surfaces to prevent damage and scratching on the chrome based areas.
